• Three collect: Toil of the Pioneer> (Discerning Eye+Methodical Appraisal), Methodical Appraisalx2. Collect x3
• Two collect: Reveal hit> (Discerning Eye+Methodical Appraisalx3). Collect x2.
• Tryhard:Reveal hit (Discerning Eye+Methodical Appraisalx2), (Utmost Caution+Methodical Appraisalx2), Collect x1.

So you’ve gotten to BTN55? What now? Two main points come up. A highly recommended GEAR UPDATE, which leads to Effective leveling and Scrip FARMING. You will need thousands of scrips– so might as well start NOW – but don’t be sad! The process of gathering scrips nets a TON OF EXP for your Botanist, so doing it while leveling is VALUE. Also, if you’re planning to level up other gatherers, this gear update is LEGIT (as you can save it for their use). I used the below set to 60 NO PROBLEM, gathering at least 2 COLLECTIBLES FROM EACH NODE.

Level 55~ BotanyGear Check

• (HQ Recommended) Dhalmelskin Bush Hat (LTW)
• (HQ Recommended)Dhalmelskin Vest(LTW)
• (HQ Recommended)Dhalmelskin Gloves(LTW)
• (HQ Recommended) BELT ANY (Any belt with GP+3 Melded is fine)
• (HQ Recommended) Ramie Trousers (WVR)
• (HQ Recommended) Dhalmelskin Fringe Boots(LTW)
• *Each non-belt body piece cheap-melded with: Gatherer’s Guerdon III, Gatherer’s Guile III.

55+ BotanyWeapon Reference:

You want, at least, the first tier (55 main 56 off-hand)(HQ Recommended)

1. (HQ Recommended) (55) TitaniumHatchet| (56) TitaniumScythe
2. (Luxury purchases) (57) HardsilverHatchet| (59) AdamantiteScythe. I noted these two here purely for reference.

With the newfound 500+ Perception, gathering these collectibles by the pair, and gaining tons of EXP and scrips will be easy for your Botanist. Now, onto the specifics…

Botany Level 54 – 56

Botany Collectibles Unlocked:
(54):Dravanian Mistletoe (Slot 3) | The Churning Mists~ (26, 10) | 12:00 Eorzea time
(54):Chives (Slot 1) | Coerthas Western Highlands~ (21, 19) | 10:00 Eorzea time

Botany (55) Quest Item: 10x HQ Emerald Beans from Churning Mist.
Botany Next (58) Quest Item: 10x HQ Birch Logs, you can farm these beforehand. (The quests skip a level, oddly)

The (54) Botany Levequest you want is:Chewed Up and Snuffed Out >Your Mother is Medicine and Your Father is the Wild.
(54) Temp(L)e:Hybrid Theories>Exotic Remedies
The (56) BotanyLevequest you want is:The Anointing of the Dead(ONLY Eval leve this tier)
(56) Temp(L)e: Nectar of the Goddess(ONLY Eval leve this tier)

What I did during this tier:Before proceeding, I highly recommend that you reveal all possible unspoiled node items at this point (level req less than 56). You won’t regret it! Keep on top of your collectibles as always!

If grinding: Dark Chestnut Log is the way to go. I used a metric ton of these leveling up my crafts and will likely be a commodity for ages to come. It’s even required in making leathers. DARK CHESTNUT is an extremely valuable hidden item, gathered from the same nodes. If you’re a crafter, Culinarians need this for many scrip turn-ins. Just a heads up.

Botany Level 56 – 58

Botany Collectibles Unlocked:
(56): Cloud Banana (Slot 2) | Dravanian Hinterlands (Lower left) | 12:00 Eorzea time
(56): Heavens Lemon (Slot 2) | Sea of Clouds (FAR!) | 6 am, 6 pm Eorzea Time

Botany Next (58) Quest Item: 10x HQ Birch Logs.
Botany Next (60) Quest Item: 3x HQ Chysahl Greens (Unspoiled, Slot 6, Coerthas West 9ET) (May be difficult)

What I did during this tier: Once you hit 55, or as you hit 56, seriously consider the gear update mentioned above! Once the Cloud Banana / Heavens Lemon tier appears – it’s SCRIP FARMING TIME. Gather them as fervently as an Ishgardian high priest – otherwise you’ll wish to the gods you HAVE. These are the first items that yield Scrips, andThey also give a lot of EXP. No reason not to get on top of these asap! I stopped gathering Old World Fig at this point. Try other appraisal methods

Like the previous tier, please consider unlocking any other unspoiled node items as early as now, as you’ve unlocked some new ones as you hit level 56.I also unlocked all my Ephemeral Node points at this time. I also tried out Aetheric Reduction – I don’t have a guide on this just yet, but feel free to try it out. (Heavensward nodes no longer that relevant)

If grinding: The previous tier’s advice is still legit (Dark Chestnut friends). Birch Log is another valid grinding item. It’s a hidden item, and used for many high-end crafts. Or simply grind whichever item you feel is most profitable. For me it’s always been either of the two mentioned.

Botany Level 58 – 60

BotanyNext (60) Quest Item: 3x HQ Chysahl Greens. If you’re a newer gatherer, this may be hard for you. The easiest way to gather these is to Reveal with Toil > Chain 4 > Ageless Words > Brunt Force > Gather > Brunt Force > Gather. You do need quite a bit of Perception to be able to do this, I do not remember the minimum right now (will update, or please comment).

What I did during this tier:If you’ve held off on it, just do it now: Gather one of every possible item/unspoiled item. The gathering log EXP isn’t insignificant, and it’ll prevent some annoying moments in the future.
