Staff was nice. Prices for puppies were outrageous. If you are looking for a dog, avoid this place unless you are ready to take out a loan.
The last 4 times ive gone to buy dog food, not available. Even when calling ahead and verifying, not available when I get there.7/4/22 update:Went in again today... staff all around, not a one wanted to help. Taste of the wild /lamb, still out of stock. When checking out... male literally started a conversation w another employee while ringing me up, and supposedly answering a question for me. He just completely stopped helping me and went on with the others. Recently, all working there are young kids that couldnt care less about the customer or your animals. Its unfortunate, as I have been a regular customer for many, many years. But hey... still 4 more bags of food to go as usual for the reward program. Ridiculous.
This store is absolutely amazing. And the staff is very friendly. I want to say her name was Amber very pretty .she was so sweet and amazing . I could tell she was busy but she stopped what she was doing the moment she saw me to help me. I went in looking for some treats for my cat who is very. Picky but ended up Getting things for all my pets which I didn’t mind at all. They enjoyed all of it. Huge thank you to Amber and to Petland for the great experience.
After switching company owners I have had nothing but problems. They no longer offer rabbit nail trims, the products I purchase are never in stock and if they are the price is outrageous, when I needed assistance with something I would have to go hunt down an employee because they were hiding behind the counter or hiding in the back. Ive been forced to shop elsewhere because these problems havent been resolved.
I went in hoping to get a puppy the other day. There was this black pug my husband wanted. This sweet lady brought her out to me. She was a little hyper at first but we instantly fell in love with that puppy. The sweet lady helped me with all my questions And then what she didn’t know she asked another man who was a coworker. I didn’t get approved for the puppy but I wasn’t as upset because the professionalism and team work these 2 employees had was amazing and that’s not something you see every day. I can’t remember their names even though she told me her name a few times but she was a smaller blonde girl and he was a tall skinny man. Hopefully these guys get the praise they deserve. Petland you have an amazing staff and I will definitely be back because of these 2 people.
Standard pet store chain, employees are friendly and helpful. The puppy sales area is offensive, the prices are ridiculous and to try and talk people into financing a pet is possibly the worst financial option available and can’t possibly lead to good homes for these overpriced puppy farm pups.
Mr Larry has helped me so much with fish info always very pleasant person I have had awesome experience with all by I generally go to him if available but stock generally great in all supplies I buy and always been friendly great staff I see repeatedly so if they have bad days they certainly are conducting their jobs well love this store I go here and I live in Pace Fl so that hour plus drive definitely worth my trip!
Terrible service. Two weeks in a row that I needed something that didn’t require a lot of attention and was told I had to wait because someone had to finish their paperwork for the day. Store full of customers and no help. Just a bunch of us waiting around. I’ve walked out of this location twice.
I love the store but all the puppies are really cute but expensive and It makes me upset bc I want a puppy but I dont have all that money!!!
I never leave reviews but this was honestly a joke. We went in looking for a pup to adopt. All 3 we were interested in were $6,000. If I could put that in all caps I would. $6,000!!!!! Only 1 of those had AKC papers. And another ones parents weren’t even registered. They try to justify the fact that you get all these warranties and stuff but most of them are only 30-45 day long warranties, again for $6,000. You guys are smoking something. I don’t know how they get puppies to sell because anyone in their right mind would leave and never come back. Making dogs sit there longer than they need to because you’re money hungry. The girl was nice that we talked too but that’s the only nice thing I have to say.Would not and will not recommend to anyone.
They do not have the prices of the dogs posted. When we asked for a price of a poodle mix we were told that poodle mixes start out at $5000-$6000 and then handed a book showing how they put $thousands into the puppies they sell. It would be nice to have a price list or prices listed. The staff was friendly but very busy.
Great place. Prices are a little steep but theyre locally owned. The employees were welcoming and knowledgeable. Seems like all employees own animals and are familiar with care. Michelle helped us find everything we needed for our new gecko and knew exactly what we would need.A good locally owned small business.
To start the staff is nice and I really have enjoyed going to this store however on January 19th we purchased a ferret from here for $349 and about two days ago I noticed 2 fleas on him. Thinking they came from our cats we instantly bathed our cats in dawn dish soap and brushed them with a flea comb and they did not have a single one on them. This lead me to believe we had to of purchased him with them. I called the store and was initially told they hadnt sold a ferret in 3 months and then the story changed when I told them I had his shot records then all they did was suggest a flea bath/dawn and inform me his warranty was up. A simple flea treatment provided or a reimbursem*nt for the cost would of been a simple fix and could of kept a happy customer. I have also been buying food from here and will now discontinue to do so due to lack of service provided on this matter.
If you scroll through the reviews you will see a majority of the higher rated are from a while back. This is because this store has gotten new owners and has not been the same since. It smells terrible in there and on top of that they do not care about your animal after it is sold. I would be very careful relying on any warranty from there. I have gone to this pet store since I can remember and my whole family has stopped giving them sales.
This used to be an amazing store, it was my go to for all my pet needs for years. Since they started selling puppies, the store absolutely reaks of animal urine. The smell is absolutely overwhelming as soon as you walk in the door. This has been a constant for months now. Ive complained about the extreme odor to the store associates and they just shrug their shoulders. Clearly the dogs are living in their own waste and the employees dont care.
Purchased a puppy Saturday. Had to take the puppy to the emergency vet Tuesday night. *No veterinarian clinic had any openings/walk-in hours.* Found out the puppy has canine infectious tracheobronchitis, which is contagious(so now our other dog could be sick as well). Now we have to quarantine the puppy and ruin our initial bounding experience. Solutions(the warranty that comes with a puppy purchase) is only covering some of the costs for the vet visit, which is in the contract you sign before leaving. So just make sure you are prepared for any medical expenses. We were informed that this emergency clinic constantly sees puppies from Petland & that ours was in better shape than most. Heres to waiting and hoping it is just a bacterial infection & now viral. Also hope the puppies that were with ours are healthy.
I visited this store for the first time since it changed ownership yesterday, and I was horrified by what I saw. Puppies from puppy mills were kept in small cages filled with urine and feces, and many of them did not look healthy. Not only were they from puppy mills, but the prices for them were absolutely unbelievable. For example, they were charging $5,000 for a chihuahua. In comparison, my relatives got a beautiful, AKC registered chihuahua from a breeder for $600. Several puppies had been there for weeks (even months) and I don’t even want to imagine how that must affect them. It was heartbreaking and I am so sad that this pet store (that used to be a great place) is now harboring such a greedy practice. Please do not support their business.
Very bad customer service. I had arranged after talking to a Manager to purchase a Rottweiler puppy to an agreed to price on June 29 at 6:30 p.m. I explained to the manager I would be there the next evening after I got off from work and I would be there between 6:30p.m. to 7:00 p.m. because I lived 2 hours away. The manager then said that the puppy would be set aside for me. On June 30th, I got off work, rushed to my house to get my daughter and drove the 2 hour trip to Ft. Walton to find out that the store sold the puppy after I got off the phone with the Manager the night before. All the sales Manager said was someone was supposed to have called me.This type of action makes me wonder if this store would even back their warranty claims because of this misleading action
Most of the workers are very knowledgeable and friendly but today we had a cashier that made me want to not go back. She was so rude and was rushing us out. On the other hand the guy in the fish department was very polite and mor Ethan willing to take time to go over all of our questions.
I cannot thank Petland enough! Petland and the staff are exceptional all-around. Before adopting my puppy, I was hesitant about puppy mills. Petland not only certifies and monitors it’s breeders, but takes exceptional care of the puppies while there. I am so thankful to have brought home a happy and healthy puppy. All the staff had expert experience and information to ensure a smooth transition for my puppy. They were quick to answer my questions and went above and beyond on their service. Definently would recommend adopting from here!
Price discrepancy and they refused to honor it. Simple customer fix but they failed even after a manager was involved. Richard was his name to be exact. His response was that it was misplaced however they could not find a sku nor the proper place that the item should have shelved. They lost a $30 sale and a customer.
My sweet kitty hurt himself so as I needed a more comfy travel box for him in order to get him to his vet. I had to rush to this store to buy one. This, sadly , was the closest so I had to go there even though I didnt want to. knew they would have way over priced it, which they did! I paid 60 dollars for what is usually only 24-30 at most. I knew they had awful service from my last visit. Which again they did. I ask a lady for help and she started another conversation with a co worker and left me just waiting for an answer. However, the very worse thing, and dangerous was that upon entering I noticed that they were busy yet not ONE person was wearing a mask. At least 3 people were coughing. I couldnt get out fast enough which is why I ust grabbed my 60 dollar cage instead of waiting around. I even saw a woman, unmasked of course, in a little homemade wooden pin with a puppy where children, also unmasked were allowed to go into with the young woman, you know, the kind that when they get the virus doesnt usually show symptoms, to pet the pup. My immunity is very low as I am dealing with health issues and I was scared to death. The worker kept walking close to me and I kept scooting away. It was unreal. Uncaring, and ignorant of this pet store to behave like children in denial during a pandemic. Our own president did that and even he now has it. I am glad I had a mask and left quickly but I can honestly say that unless its another dire emergency I will never step foot in that place again. How well would the pets be taken care of if their families get too sick to care for them? Nope. Its supermarket for me. Petco too cares. Awful business then and now.
They have amazing customer service. I love going in just to see the people I know. I walk in the door to great greetings like Im always running in to life long friends. They have a great selection of adoptable pets and products/necessities for said pets. Or even the ones not adoptable with them. The knowledge base at this store is extremely diverse upon animals. I have yet to go in and talk to someone or with someone about a pet that they couldnt get or give info on. If one person doesnt know they are willing to get you to someone that does as well as learn themselves. Please check them out and ensure you tell EA, Brandon, Sadie, Larry, and Jeremy thank you for the amazing service they have provided for YEARS! THANK YOU GUYS!
The place smells terrible when walking in.. so I had a feeling I wasn’t going to like what I saw. I went in for a dog harness and noticed all the puppies in the store. Unfortunately they were not with local humane societies but with puppy mills. Noticing they were purebred breeds such as frenchies, labs, etc. I asked if they used local breeders (knowing they did not) and I was told that they weren’t sure, they have people they use. This place needs to be out of business and put puppy mills out of business.
Our children love to visit here almost weekly. We always have great experiences and our family was really looking forward to purchasing our first fish for our new tank. Unfortunately, our child was trying to touch an animal that shouldn’t have been touched. We will 100% accept and agree the child was in the wrong and apologize. Instead of your employee kindly and respectfully asking the parent or child to stop, and taking that as an opportunity to teach child what is the right way to handle to animal(!!!!!), she felt she had the right/authority to rip her mask off and YELL at my child. If you continue to have animals accessible for children to touch PLEASE teach your employees to do better.
They are always quick to help pick things up and carry them if you cant. Great selection. Most people were wearing a mask when I went however I have been previously and had a woman pick her nose, during covid much less,, so just watch yourself and your receipt touching cahiers.

This is the third time I have been in the store and the smell has been so horrific. My eyes and nose burn every time. This is a huge problem for all the animals. Highly disappointed.
Its a very nice store is very nice employees got a very helpful the only thing I would take a point off for is the smell it smells like pets LOL its a pet store I love fish I go in there for the fish I smell dogs cats rabbits and all those other little creatures pretty look at that nice to clean up after but for what Im looking for I always find just what I need
Overall a decent store. Unfortunately, theres not much competition in the area. Maybe thats why their prices are expensive. We moved here from Brooklyn, NY and I must say fish prices here are drastically higher than what I used to see in New York. Nonetheless, store staff are super friendly. Often or not they have everything that I need for my fish. Theyre definitely better than Pet Smart in Destin.
This is a running review of Petland Fort Walton Beach - So overall things with this Petland have changed. They now have an additional area where you can adopt pets. I think that is a great option for animal lovers. My mark-down from five stars is for two things - first they no longer let you know what your credit is towards your next free bag of dog food and they do not store credit/debit receipts in a register like they should be doing. Lets put it this way, they take your credit card receipts and place them face up in an open plastic container on the counter where everyone can see your signature and the last four of your credit card. This is technically a PII violation. If you see someone stacking your receipt on top of other receipts face up call them out on it and tell them to place the receipt face down. When it comes to your credit card and personal information like a credit card signature be paranoid because you will be less likely to have to deal with the theft of your private information. Still, this is my go to place for pet supplied in FWB.They always have what I am looking for. If I need help finding or ordering something they are always willing to help. They also have loyalty programs for pet food. Ive been a customer of this store for over eight years now. THANK YOU!
Love this Pet store! Great staff who really care about their animals. The touch tanks housed rabbits, hamsters, birds, and ferrets that you can pet, hold, and interact with. Such sweet animals! Most of them were extremely friendly and not scared of people trying to touch them. You can tell the staff interact with the animals often and handle them gently. Marcus the parrot I believe was his name and breed, was so sweet and friendly! He loved to climb on your finger and be talked to. He didnt talk back often, but he would say a word or two! I love visiting the animals there! They also had cats for adoption in the front that were very sweet and beautiful.
Got a goldendoodle puppy about two weeks back. Puppies live in a small crate with windows where they use the restroom and are normally living with two or three other dogs. Mine was checked by the vet and has been found to have a type of worm not treated by regular deworming. Meaning that the other puppies are also probably spreading said worm. Called three times to inform of so it would be handled and not once did I get to talk to anyone but a answering machine. Kinda disappointed for the price for the puppies, that they would be in that state and trained to use the restroom where they live. Nice staff and all but i will never buy another animal from petland or do business with.
Very nice pet store! They have a little bit of everything! also their fish are great they have plenty of different fish to choose from when building your tank! The staff is always nice and the prices are great! Also in a great location in Fort Walton! Plenty of parking in this nice shopping area! They also hold adoption events here very often!
I suppose I will start at the beginning. We had been thinking about getting a second dog for a while. We would visit Petland on a pretty frequent basis and decided it was time. We found a papillon, who we decided to name Oliver, and took him home with us. A couple of days later we took him on vacation with us to Georgia for Christmas. We had noticed that he was doing a little cough. After research I decided that it may be an inverted sneeze, as it is common in his breed. He wasn’t producing anything with the cough. We had been home for a bit and actually decided to get one more puppy from petland. My husband had always wanted an Australian shepherd and we figured now was a good time since we were potty training Oliver already. We got a mini Aussie who we named scout. The first night with scout was good and we didn’t really notice anything odd besides no appetite, which we chalked up to the stress of being in a new home with two new dogs. The following day we returned from work and noticed that Scout was also coughing and seemed to be having labored breathing. Of course, by the time we realized how serious it was our local vet was closed so we had to drive to a different city to take him to the emergency vet. While we were there we were informed that we had a very sick puppy on our hands. They gave him antibiotics and fluids and we took him to our vet the very next day. Come to find out, he has kennel cough. That is when it hit us that Oliver, the papillon, more than likely had this as well. After doing an examination it was deemed that both pups had kennel cough. We were instructed to give both an antibiotic and some cough suppressant. We noticed that Oliver was much improved and we barely ever heard him cough anymore. Scout, on the other hand, seemed to be getting worse. At his follow up appointment they decided to do X-rays and found a very severe case of pneumonia. According to the vet they can typically see the heart through the lungs, but the lungs were so covered they couldn’t even see the heart on the imagine. He was sent home with two antibiotics and a nebulizer. They also gave Oliver another round of antibiotics as a precaution. After the antibiotics and nebulizer, Scout is finally sounding SO much better! He has a follow up appointment and we have high hopes that he is all better, thank goodness. For anybody know has pets, we all know how expensive the vet is, and the emergency vet at that. At this point we have put nearly $1,000.00 into getting them healthy. My grievance is that I was assured that we were receiving healthy dogs both times. It seems to me like it is a huge coincidence that both dogs had the same illness from the same establishment. Supposedly they have vets that visit the pups and care for them. My issue is that we had Scout for ONE NIGHT before we realized he was sick. How long had he been sitting there feeling bad? Why hadn’t the vet noticed something wasn’t right? Why hadn’t the employees noticed? I’ll tell you why—they don’t have enough time to focus on each and every dog. They have too many pups and too few workers. I pains me to think what could have happened had we not took Scout home with us and gotten him the care that he needed...that he DESERVED! What if he had gone to a family that didn’t realize how sick he was? They claim that all expenses for illness will be refunded to you by the company that they use called “Solutions”. We submitted our documentation to them well over a week ago and apparently it is still in the “review” process. Not to mention, they don’t even know if they will cover Oliver since we didn’t bring him in until after the 14 day period. $1,000 is a pretty good amount of money to pay for two pups that you were guaranteed were cleared by a competent vet. If you are going to get pets from this establishment—be prepared to take them to the vet for possible kennel cough and God knows what else and be prepared to wait for your reimbursem*nt. The only reason I would recommend buying from here is so that those babies done have to sit in there any longer than needed.
I came here today and I will say that the staff are very detailed and go over a lot of information with you when purchasing an animal. They were very patient with me as I took the time to make sure which one felt more like the one that would be a good fit for our family. I am very happy with the service that we received and the new family member we now have.
Love this store, love that it’s locally run and operated. Prices are moderate, a little cheaper than PetSmart. The employees are always great and super friendly when assisting me with purchasing live feeder rats. They’ve also helped me carry things to my car which I think is super sweet and they also helped me fit a huge 40 gallon tank into my back seat. Great place, great people.
I thought I was given a winter white turns out shes an aggressive Russian campbell dawrf and the people there had no idea what they were talking about
Clean alittle cluttered but in their defense it looked lime they were putting away a shipment of goods. I knew what I was looking for but would have been nice if someone had asked me if I needed assistance.I was looking for puppy food for a new puppy we got and a recommendation would have been nice and I probably would have gone with the recommendation. Still a pleasant trip to the store.
I love going to this store. Larry is such a helpful and knowledgeable guy. Hes patient when my 4 year old asks questions and always takes the time to recommend courses of action that dont always involve buying something. This man deserves praise and a raise for the quality of service he consistently provides. Thank you!
I absolutely love their dog food program where you buy 10 bags and get 1 free. It periodically saves me over 50 dollars. I also love how helpful and polite their employees are. They always ask if I need assistance when I arrive and again when I leave (to carry out the bag of food). I appreciated this greatly when I was pregnant. They are very knowledgeable and have helped me out a lot.
Awesome staff! We were NEVER left with questions. Somebody was ALWAYS there to answer. They were so AMAZING that we bought several items and went home. We came back 20min later with our Patch Kitty to get his nails done for almost HALF what other places charge! $7.95!
I always shop at this store for my pet needs. As one of maybe two Independent per stores in town, they’re my go to. They are aways kind and helpful, their rewards program has saved me a load of $, and they always carry the heavy items. They custom order what you need if they don’t have it. They’re wonderful.
Im a fish guy and this fish store is the best within 100 miles as far as variety, cleanliness, and staff. Mr. Larry was the gentleman that assisted me and he was super knowledgeable and a true fish enthusiast. Come to find out as I was checking out he had been there since the place opened 17 years ago. Fish stores are a dying breed but if you are looking for some nice fish and reasonable prices this is the place. I live in Pensacola which is around 1 hour away and will gladly make this trip going forward for my local fish needs.
My wife bought her fish there, I bought her a 150 gallon tank for our anniversary they had it on display and charged separate for the lids and stand which werent marked and didnt tell me it wasnt included until it was paid for. She found a boxfish that was dying and called to ask if they could help it they said yes they have a medicated tank and would even give a credit. We brought it there and they talked to her like she was stupid. I havent been that mad in a long time. Could have said no if they didnt want to help it instead of pissing me off
I love how every time I go in I am always greeted and asked if I need any assistance. They carry my things to my car for me and are always so helpful with advice and much more! I loved attending the guinea pig picnic two years ago. I love the events they have and the quality of products they offer.
I have been using this his pet store ever since I was a child. They are always so friendly and willing to go out of there way to help. Everytime I go I have to see the ferrets and bunnies and they always let you play with them! I would definitely recommend giving this place a try. They have so many options and are very friendly.
Overpriced. Customer service is hit or miss, but if you need anything you still usually must be assertive, even with their best employees. It is closer, but I still prefer Pet Supermarket, who have a huge cat section and are always super friendlyand helpful. Every time I go to Petland they have even less cat supplies, but they are open an extra hour longer.
My husband and I have been coming here for years for all of our many pet needs. We shop here for our snakes, fish, and dogs and are never displeased with the customer service nor the products we receive. My favorite thing about this location is that all of the employees have personal experience in dealing with different animals. So if I have a question about my aquarium setup, or what to do if one of my exotic pets is exhibiting strange behavior, there is always someone knowledgeable there to answer my question/s.
Cat was super, she put me at ease when my little yorkie got a tick. She provided excellent information and guided me to appropriate treatment. What a super woman, with a wealth of knowledge. Store is great, has everything you could ever need, but the customer service is beyond excellent!!
Been buying dog food from Petland in Fort Walton Beach off Mary Esther cut off for about 10 years on and off. They have a deal where you buy 10 bags of dog food you get the 11th free. I went in today about 1:45 PM and just so happens they have no record of my purchases anymore after telling us 3 weeks ago when we bought a bag that we were up to 7 bags. Now it’s showing 1 bag . Pretty sure somehow my account got deleted when we had the lady at register change the phone number last transaction.Update 6-7-2019The owner Glen has been in contact with us and made things right. We went into the store today and Karen was very helpful she assisted us with getting our bag of dog food and was very knowledgeable about all the different brands. We will be back
I went here with my niece and my mother and we bought a leopard gecko for my niece the lady that sold us the lizard was very knowledgeable on reptiles and so far she was great at assisting us with getting everything we need to make sure that are lizard Lizzie Lu was well taken care of I got to get some stuff for my cats to so it was a wonderful day
I buy my dog food here and was looking with my wife and kids at a 600 sun conure bird. An employee mentioned to another one near by I guess they are just going to stay here all day and play. Excuse me for wanting to be sure and creating a bond with an animal thats $600 plus $330 for the cage i was looking at. I wrote to the store to address this and never heard back. I will be looking to find another pet store in the area, although i know this is 1 employee and probaly not the companies view or take on things its difficult. Also had a bunny just die after 5 days if having it. I called one they offered to switch is out but I had to bring the dead body back. I am thinking are you kidding me? I will no longer shop here.
I went there to get a pet for my birthday and i fell in love with one of the guinea pigs. Before i went here i had no idea about guinea pigs i knew nothing at all. The staff gave me lots of information about caring, maintaining, and some very useful information. I got my first guinea pig there and loved them so much i had to get another. They take really good care of the animals.
The nerdy lady behind the counter should pay more attention to what shes doing instead of pushing their rewards card on people. Bought 6 live feeder mice. While telling me about the program mouse bit the lady and she bled everywhere. Got home and had her blood on my mice and on the box the mice came in. Wont be back.
Had the weirdest experience there the other day. I was interested in purchasing a new Spider and caught a worker walking by. I was especially interested in the Goliath. I asked which container had the Goliath. She said I dont know oookkay?? I asked what kind of Goliath? She again said I dont know by this time I was sensing that it wasnt clear to this lady that I am an interested paying customer so I say I buy tarantulas here often. Like..I buy them... And get this! She said Thank you for your service and walked away. I just stood there laughing in shock of whatever that was. Sooo, never even got to view anything and i kept my $130.00
My fiancé and I originally went in just to “look” at the puppies lol. However, while we were there we were introduced to this lovely Olde Bulldog! I fell in love instantly and so did he, we took him home the same day and have completely fell in love with him and finally decided to name him Yami! I can’t say thank you enough to the workers who worked together to help us adopt him!!! I am forever grateful for finding my new best friend and for all the help and patience the staff had with us while deciding! I highly recommend adopting from here!!!
The guy who works the fish department who has been there for a long time I have been told, He is always rude and not polite every time I come there for fish/products. Today was the last draw with his poor behavior. I will go to another pet store from here on out. I hope you guys get this figured out because I know I’m not the only one. Gave it a 2 star for all the other awesome people who work there. They really deserve a 5 but that guy just ruins the whole thing.
Always come here for my fish and aquarium needs. Larry in the back with the fish has been an invaluable help with the care of my cichlids. Best place for nearly all things fish related. I see places where it can improve some product wise but overall its a great place!
Was browsing through the fish section this past week, and an associate by the name of Bunny was very knowledgeable and informative about the fish I wanted for my tank and helped me narrow down my options and even let me know her store is able to order specialty fish. I will definitely be a returning customer because of the experience I had
Great place, I love going there to visit the animals. But the last time I was there, I met with a rude worker for the first time. Theres a co*ckatoo there and shes been there for a few months now. Shes now out of the cage she was in and living on her open play station. I ALWAYS pet her when I go there. Which is every other week. And the workers never cared. But this last time, a short lady with brown hair came up to me and told me I wasnt allowed to pet her! I saw her go around and tell people not to pet any of the animals! The rabbits, ferrets, or birds! There was this one man working and told me not to worry about what she said and to just enjoy myself. But that lady is just plain rude!! It makes me not want to go there to visit the animals, and I absolutely love doing it. :(
I called to ask about a dog cone and about hours or operations. Tiana (I think was her name) was amazing. she brought the cone to the front and kept it at the desk for my doggie. She looked threw the store and helped me any way need be. I cannot leave my house cause my doggie is really sick and she was so accommodating my friend walked in and she had everything ready for her. I just wanna show her my thanks !
I enjoyed every second of my experience here at Petland. Doug (the older one because I was told there are two) helped me with the upmost patience, manners, and a great attitude from beginning to end. Both Doug and the entirety of the staff were nice and welcoming and aimed to get me what I needed at all the very best deals possible. I WILL be back and I highly reccomend this place. Thank you guys! Thank you Doug!
I took my wife and 3 year old son to pick out some fish to add to our fish tank and to my surprise we all lit up like little kids overwhelmed with excitement to see all of the live animals; birds, bunnies, hamsters, fish, saltwater fish and living coral! It was amazing. We ended up leaving with 5 fish and 2 hamsters. We felt like we had a personal guide, GA! Shout out to the knowledgeable man who helped my family pick out our new family members. It was a wonderful experience!
Talk about a awesome store that covers a huge variety of pet owner needs! The experienced staff is awesome and very friendly! Thank yall for always being of assistance to us! The best part about this store is how much they support our local law enforcement, yall will always have my families business!
Our family LOVES Petland of FWB! The staff is the friendliest ever! Ive been shopping there for a couple of years now and everyone has always been so nice and willing to help; whether it be carrying food to my car or ordering foods for my furbabies! Thank you for doing what you do!
We are a family who love animals and have just a few pets 😉So, we are at pet land at least a couple of times, every week. The workers are all very knowledgeable and friendly. We always leave with what we needed and feel very much appreciated, as customers. Thanks for all you do!
Over Charged. I went into this pet store, Petland and paid $107 for a 25 lb bag of Higgins Premium Pet Food for my blue and gold macaw. I left with a huge hole in my wallet and hoping this food will last awhile. When going on Amazon I find that I can actually purchase this same item for $53 plus free shipping. If it wasnt for the seal broken on the bag, I would have had no problem returning it. It was definitely a learning experience. I try to support local business but when they actually violate you, purchasing online is becoming a lot more attractive.
I shop here a few times a week getting aquarium supplies and fish....Larry is always super helpful and knowledgeable...everyone else in the store is top notch as well...from one local business owner to another....thank you for being the place for me and my wife to go for all of our aquarium needs
Very rude employees. We politely asked them to grab something from the back room, and the employee rolled his eyes and scoffed. My wife and I were looking for a kennel along with some other things for our puppies but decided never mind and took our business elsewhere. Also, as of recently they started purchasing puppies from PUPPY MILLS so we no longer refer nor shop with Petland of Fort Walton Beach
The Owner of this store is extremly rude. After having worked here a week I recieved little to no training. Being told I would be getting part time hours I was given 10 hours my second week. Meanwhile I was given grief for my one work shirt being slightly wrinkled, due to it being in my bag from biking 5 miles to work daily, and forced to sit in the break room while it was in the store dryer. The owner withheld my check for three days, just to force me to come in while he was there to try and belittle me, due to having to leave on the spot for a family emergency and not given the time of day by the manager to inform them. Prices here are higher than across the way over at Pet Supermarket. Even with my discount I still shopped there. Larger selection as well.
I loved the experience. I knew a lot about hedgehogs beforehand but they knew their stuff. They answered every question I was going to ask before I could including if they have a specific breeder they get their hedgehogs from or not. Which they do. I would recommend going here.

Everytime I needed help out to my car with a heavy bag of dog food they would also know before I would ask. Maybe because I was pregnant or had a screaming toddler ;) Thanks for making my life easier.
